Anxiety Therapy for Florida Adults

Person pushing boulder uphill at sunset — anxiety therapy for adults in Florida.

Anxiety Therapy for Florida Adults

Anxiety can take many forms. For some people, it shows up as chronic worry that runs in the background of daily life. For others, it's acute — panic attacks, situational fear, health anxiety, social anxiety. Some people have lived with it since adolescence. Others notice it for the first time as adults, in the middle of a specific life circumstance or seemingly out of nowhere.

I treat anxiety as a primary presenting concern in its own right. Some clients come with anxiety as their sole focus. Others come with anxiety alongside another concern — depression, a life transition, recovery. Both are welcome, and both get addressed clinically.

How Anxiety Can Show Up

Anxiety looks different from person to person, but common experiences include:

  • Persistent overthinking and difficulty quieting the mind
  • Chronic worry that doesn't correspond to what's actually happening
  • Panic attacks or acute physical anxiety symptoms
  • Perfectionism and fear of failure or judgment
  • Difficulty delegating, letting go, or trusting outcomes
  • Health anxiety or hypervigilance about your body
  • Social anxiety in specific situations or across social contexts
  • Physical symptoms — tension, disrupted sleep, fatigue, digestive issues
  • A persistent sense that something is wrong, even when things are objectively fine
  • Irritability, restlessness, or difficulty being fully present

How I Work

Sessions are structured and skills-based, drawing from CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based approaches, and evidence-based anxiety treatments. Understanding how anxiety operates — physiologically and psychologically — is often part of what breaks its hold. From there, we develop concrete skills you can use in real time: cognitive tools for identifying and shifting anxious thinking, distress tolerance strategies for acute moments, and behavioral techniques for interrupting patterns that keep anxiety in place.

Some clients arrive with anxiety that's been trait-level for years. Others are experiencing anxiety for the first time as adults. Some have anxiety that's specifically tied to a life circumstance — a career change, a difficult period in a relationship, a health concern. The clinical approach is calibrated to what your anxiety is actually doing and where it's coming from.
